Counselling allows you to explore issues in confidence with a trained professional. Counselling is different to discussing problems with friends, loved ones or family.
Counsellors will not judge you and will not exercise their opinion on how you should live your life. Instead, counselling can support you through painful emotions, coping with stress, anxiety, loss etc., in a safe environment.
In counselling, you can talk about thoughts, feelings, the world and your position in it, with the full attention of a trained and trusted professional. Some problems will never go away, however, how we cope or allow our problems to impact us can be changed.
Counselling and Psychotherapy will give you further insight into the problem and will support you in exploring ways in which your issues can be overcome.
The counselling journey can be both painful and exciting. You can expect to experience a number of different emotions, and gain further insight into yourself; it’s this self-insight and awareness which enables us to cope or function as we want.
You can expect to receive between 6 to12 therapy sessions, sometimes less. Towards the end of sessions, we will work together to reassess the problem.
