It is preferable that you visit your GP before attending for Sex Therapy, also known as Psychosexual Therapy, as this will help rule out any medical causes. Your GP may prescribe treatment and still recommend you attend for therapy.
I WILL NOT EXAMINE YOU or ask you to carry out any intimate activities during therapy sessions.
It may be that you feel you need Psychosexual therapy, however during the assessment process I may feel that counselling may be more appropriate to begin with, sometimes issues which have their roots in the past, may also be the root cause of your current difficulty.
I understand that seeking help for sexual problems can feel a little scary or even weird to begin with, and I appreciate the courage it takes to make that first step. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch by email or phone, support is just a call away.
